I Am Hoood: The Next West Coast Super Star
Jarvis Miles, better known by his stage name I Am Hoood. He is an American rapper from the Southside of Phoenix Arizona. He rose to prominence in 2014 with his song “DOA” (Death of Arizona) which became popular in the valley. Hoood became locally recognized and continued recording music for the regional audience. He has acquired a loyal fan base and is considered to be one of the most talented rappers in Arizona. Growing up has been a treacherous journey for Hoood.
He is the youngest of 3 brothers and figured out life quickly at a young age. His parents were not consistently present in his life due to their battle with drugs. Miles father was constantly in and out of prison for smoking and selling “crack”, which created a lot of instability in the household. And his mother who was also battling her addiction, was not in an adequate position to care for her children. They were the kids who had it the worst out of everyone in the neighborhood. This resulted in having their grandmother be the angel who took responsibility and decided to raise him from a young age. Understandably, Hoood has a lot of respect and love for her. Hoood has since then become a proud father of 3 amazing boys.
He is being the father that he didn’t grow up having to them. While continuing his career as an artist, he intends to balance the stage life while still being a dynamic father who is heavily invested into every aspect of his boy’s lives. Knowing Hoood’s background story and understanding how he grew up, really helps to paint a solid picture. When you listen to Hoood’s lyrics on his newest record “Times of my Life” you will get an idea of who he is. You will hear him speak of his life experiences on his record.
